Taupō Monumental creates customised memorial headstones and plaques. Since opening its doors in 1979 the firm has earned respect for its perception and craft in the Taupo district as well as in the wider communities the business serves.

Our Stonemason, Nathan:
Nathan began working with memorials at 14, after school, weekends and holidays, before starting his apprenticeship at 16, learning traditional techniques such as hand chisel and lead lettering. Today, he’s one of only two in the Waikato district with this specialised skill.
At 19, and his apprenticeship complete, Nathan started Creative Stone in Hamilton. During this time he learned stained glass and sandblasting techniques and operated a decorative glass company.
Nathan moved to Taupō in 2014 and purchased Taupō Monumental in July 2015.
